A rules-based engine that never hallucinates a number is table stakes for financial software now, not a differentiator on its own. What sets AI.FO apart is what happens after the math is done: a second, independent verifier has to agree with every narrative before it publishes, in a fail-closed gate, and every threshold behind every signal cites a published, sourced methodology instead of a black box.
AI.FO connects to QuickBooks Online and validates the numbers behind every signal before any narrative is written. Three separate stages have to pass before a founder sees a brief.
Every signal is computed by rules-based code, not by AI. Same inputs always produce the same outputs, and an accountant can check any formula with a spreadsheet.
The narrative model receives a locked packet of pre-computed facts and writes the explanation. It cannot introduce a number the engine did not already compute, and a field-level check rejects a correct number attached to the wrong metric, unit, or period.
Before anything publishes, a second verifier, built on a different model family than the one that wrote the narrative, checks it independently. If the verifier does not pass the narrative, it is blocked. Nothing publishes by default; publishing is the exception that has to earn its way through.

The signal count above is read live from the current signal registry, not typed by hand; it grows as new signals ship. The same live count, stamped with its commit and generation time, is public and no-auth at /api/telemetry, so anyone can verify it independently of this page.
Every signal AI.FO ships follows the same discipline: a plain-English description of what it detects, the exact formula, a threshold with a cited source, and, where the threshold reflects our own calibration rather than a published benchmark, that is labeled honestly rather than dressed up as an external citation. An accountant or auditor can trace any number on a brief back to the formula and source that produced it.
